For this week’s segment of Invent America, Michael King and co-host Rita Crompton welcome Stephen P Souders to discuss “The WHY and HOW of the Inventor Plan”. Stephen P Souders is the inventor of “The Cut N Go”, a safety tool that is the only emergency seat belt cutter that is locked on, self-enclosed, manually-guided, and child proof. For more information, please visit: http://www.thecutngo.com. Stephen P Souders: “[…] I graduated with a D average which I always believed stood for dreamer. I have always thought of ideas but this one is the only one that I believe was given to me by God. I was watching TV one morning thinking I was going to have to close my current business when I saw a clip of a policeman walking through the water to save this elderly couple and it hit. I went to my dining room table and drew up the design and logo. This was the first time I ever thought of a logo for one of my ideas. I then went to my computer looked up seatbelt cutters and saw they all looked like glorified envelope cutters. Then I literally stood in my living and said alright God if this is going to work I need some miracles and the very next day they started happening. Here we are over five years later and now it’s fantastic and we even now have a first responder’s safety pack and rewards program for them.”
